If it's copy protected you could try AnyDVD from slysoft.

 I've had good results with it. Don't use their burning software,
 CloneDVD, though. All it did for me was coasterize three or four before
 I smartened up and used Nero.
 
 Use AnyDVD to get it onto your hard drive, then use Nero to burn a DVD.
 If you have one of those VHS / DVD side by side recorders you can just
 dub it.
