He/She wants to view them on a DVD player so unless it is an MP4
compatible DVD player then the films are going to have to be remastered
to vcd (as indicated in the original post).
To the OP :
Forget about 80 minutes of (uncompressed) music vs video etc - they are
compressed/encoded in completely different ways.
Currently your film is encoded in a format called MP4 (DivX is a variant
of this) - it's like mp3 but for films. If your dvd player is fairly new
and has MP4/DivX or XVid on the front then you should be able to simply
copy the file to the cd using the splitting method Kim indicates above.
If your dvd player does not have these stickers then you will need to
author a dvd or VideoCD (which it seems you thought you were doing) -
this entails reencoding the film and creating a special disk format.
If you have Nero on your PC then you can use this to author a vcd (I'm
sure many other disk writing packages will aloow you to do this also but
this is what I use), if not head over to www.doom9.org and look for a
tutorial there.
