SDI/HD-SDI signals are only available at the camcorder, not at the
CCU. Only analog signals (composite baseband video, R/G/B component,
Y/R-Y/B-Y component, and S-Video (Y/C)) are available at the CCU,
although SDI/HD-SDI is still available at the camcorder.

The CCU provides function/menu control over the camcorder, and
includes four user-programmable buttons.

Power can be supplied to the camcorder via the CCU if desired.

Tally status is communicated between the camcorder and the CCU via the
26-pin connection, as is intercom.

I don't see why taking the SDI/HD-SDI signal straight out of the
camcorder would be a problem. I mean, it's just a simple coaxial cable
with BNC connectors.

If it's of any interest, a copy of the Instruction manual for the
KA-HD250U Studio Adapter and a brochure for the RM-P210U CCU can be
downloaded via the following links. Note that the RM-P210U brochure
dates from 2001, which is why the GY-HD250U camcorder isn't mentioned
within it.
