What is Usenet Retention?
Retention is how long, in amount of time, a server can retain an
article and have it available to Usenet users. Retention is very
important because a Usenet user might not check for new articles every
day. Those articles need to be there for when the user comes back.
Usenet retention will not keep articles available forever on the
Usenet server, but it should keep the articles long enough for you to
retrieve them. Most retention for Usenet providers is about a week for
most binaries, but at Usenet.com, we pride ourselves with above
average retention times.
