I think it is useful! I use to do something similar back in Win 3.1

Really!
So you would not put Adobe Photo shop and Acrobat under \Adobe you would
seperate them?
Or you would seperate all the Microsoft office programs into a "function"
based tree?

Sorry but I just don't see what you are getting at!
But then I guess I'm not "educated" :-)
