Thank you, Larry. I tried another VCR, and the problem disappeared. It
is puzzling that my VCR can play the tape recorded by the other VCR. It
can also record from DVD (it is a combo), and play it. However, the
other VCR cannot play the tape that my VCR recorded from DVD.
