Uploading from videocam, speed woes

Posted by Ron House on 12/29/06 04:58

I am trying to upload a video from a mini-DV videocamera, so I can out
it onto a dvd. I have had success with 6 tapes recorded at SP speed, but
I have one tape in LP speed which is causing grief. I am using Windows
Movie Maker (but have also tried Nero with the same problem), and what
is happening is that the tape is playing in the videocamera at the
correct speed, and the little monitor window in the recording software
is showing the tape in real time, but the time index is moving too
slowly, taking about 1.7 minutes to advance by 1 minute. Then, when I
play back the resulting AVI file, it plays too fast.

Does anyone know if there is any way to explain to the software that
this is an LP recording, or alternatively any way to recode the time on
the avi file?

TIA,
Ron House
