Actually, they did quite well with their research over the years,
and have made many innovations in signal handling, etc. So even if
the output stages aren't what you would call the premier, the gear set
itself is impressive. Pioneer, in particular took display technology
further, as well as signal switching (read I/O switches/handling).

Fuck you. McIntosh. The top. But Pioneer, and the consumer level
boys DO make some pretty good gear, so you and your pathetic $15k
opinion can fuck off. I have seen $30k systems, and better so MY
remarks about high end are related to consumer, middle class ranges.
The HD DVD demographic is US, whether you like it or not.
