AFAIK, they can't. A pause, whether it's 2 seconds or two minutes, is a
pause and won't be recognized as anything other than than that.
Due to the way most NLEs handle video, the only way to do this is to pause
the camcorder, cover the lens and record again for 2 minutes. Pause again,
uncover the lens and record for another minute. That way your timings would
be correctly interpreted.
Why not just insert a 2 minute blank space during editing using some form of
generated media such as the colour black? Or, if there's a 2 minute gap in
the audio, get rid of it.
