What has largely been missed by the mainstream media is how the piss
poor excuse for a fair trial that Saddam was given has set a very poor
precedence for the Iraqi legal system. After the massive spilling of
largely innocent people's blood all we have to show for it is that one
shambolic system has been replaced by another. I am utter ashamed to be
a citizen of a country involved in this.
At the precise moment Saddam's neck was broken one could clearly hear
the sounds of Iraq fracturing into 3 states destined to war with each
other for the foreseeable future over oil wealth. A bit like Kashmir
but only far more bloody.
