Auto-recognition of time code breaks or discontinuities would be easier
if you set the camcorder to record free-run time code set to the time
of day. Then set any other sources the same way. There are freeware and
shareware logging programs for DV that will easily detect the breaks
this way. When you set to free-run and record, when you stop at
01:20:22 and pause for a second, the next code the machine will record
will pick up at 01:22:22 or therabouts. From there it's easy for a
computer to sense the gaps and create in/out points from that.
