It uses one of the included keys if:
1. you don't set DVDCSS_METHOD, or if you set it to "key", and
2. The *optional* csskeys.h file with player keys was available
when libdvdcss was compiled.

Check the code itself. In particular, examine the functions
CrackTitleKey and CrackDiscKey in css.c. Find a programmer to explain
them to you.
