25 years of social convention on usenet have established the style of
quoting what you reply to, with your comments inserted, directly
following what they are in reply to, as the norm. This norm developed
because basically everyone who considered the problem concluded that it
was the most effective way to communicate, taking into account the
nature of usenet.
You are basically telling the world that your thoughts are so important,
you don't need to try to effectively communicate them. You can instead
use a style this is annoying to read, and the rest of us should go to
the extra effort of coping if we want to benefit from your wise words.
