Slight disagreement. The problem with UMD is that it's a useless
third wheel of a format. Anyone serious about watching movies on
the PSP will be simply ripping their DVDs to Memory Stick, not paying
$15 for a proprietary disc. Sony is trying to double-dip movie
fans buy getting them to buy a movie a second time just for
the option of watching it on the road. And, there's no standalone
UMD players to make the format slightly more appealing.

For me personally, the killer app will be Casino Royale (I'm a
Bond fan). I'm buying that in high-definition somehow or other.

I don't think it'll happen. At least, not anytime soon. It'd take
a minimum of ten years. Standard DVD is way more useful and economical
for the general public.
