There's some pretty good reasons to consider Blu-Ray a must to avoid.
And you didn't address my point about durability. Remember, Blu-Ray discs
were initially designed to be housed in a caddy. They dumped the caddy idea
for marketing reasons (probably too reminiscent of CED), but the data pits
are still REAL close to the surface of the disc, which means it won't take
much to disrupt the optical properties of the disc and make it unreadable.
So, enjoy your ridiculously expensive equipment while you can and let me
know in 6 months how your discs are doing, playability-wise.
