Troubling to hear, since my standalone player is also a Pioneer. I've
never had it not play an MP3 disc, though, not that I've fed it many
(my computer itself is right next to my stereo and TV, and has a
24 bit sound card itself). However, your idea is probably the best
one - just reencode them to a bitrate the player can handle.
