There have been reported problems of A/V sync problems when editing
with DvdShrink. I had this on my first editing experience with
DvdShrink. Never got past it. Changing the compression won't do it.
The problem is in the triming of the audio packets, as I recall.

To fix, one would have to resort back to the original.

A better way to edit .vob files is with VideoRedo. I have had A/V
problems with mpeg-vcr, but never with VRO. To get around the problems
with MVCR, I just never combined more than two clips at a time.
www.videoredo.com

Then use the TmpgEnc Author to author.

If you still have the original clips before combining into TDA, then
you might try VRO on them individually before authoring, just do a
*Quick Fix* to get the V/A packets in proper sync. This will only work
if the individual clips that you have play fine on your pc. I have had
very good luck with this in the past. VideoRedo is the only mpeg
application that I know of that fixes A/V problems at their source. I
use it on every VHS capture project and any videos transported from my
desktop recorder.

Another way to try is just to use TDA by itself. Add in the .mpg or
..vob to TDA, and then select the start end end frames. Not as fast or
as clean as VRO, but can work. Also, this may not fix the problem as
it probably was introduced from the clipping of the clips by DvdShrink
originally.

VRO is probably your best shot at fixing, without going back to the
sources and starting over with an mpeg editor.

Cheers...

Mark
