The problem is that MT-Newswatcher didn't put any charset information in
the headers of the message, so each client has to guess which to use, or
use it's default. Mac clients will probably use Mac OS Roman, which
would be (by luck) correct in this case, where the OP was using a Mac.
The Windows clients will probably read it as Windows-1252 or Latin1,
giving you the characters that were not intended.
The fault does lie with MT-NW. If it is going to post with non ascii
7-bit characters onto the internet, then it should give a clue as to how
they should be read.
