As usual, your lack of understanding is amazing... Comparing week for
week sales doesn't matter because the two machines didn't launch in
the same time period. If you compare Christmas to Christmas sales
you'll see that the PS3 ended up selling about half as much as the
PS2. Which shouldn't be surprising really since it's twice the price.

Selling 48,000 units in Japan when they have supposedly shipped
1,000,000 machines is a PATHETIC tie ratio. That means that the game
reached just 4.8% of it's potential audience. The weird thing is that
it's probably outstripping any Blu-Ray media sales.

Preorders were high in the U.S. too... until it turned out that Sony
wasn't able to deliver the units. 2 million became 1 million, became
400,000 became less than 200,000. You can't count your sales before
they happen.
