I am not a video professional, but I use my own equipment for producing
cable access TV shows. I make no money *at all* off this, so my budget is
(very) limited.
Currently I have two camcorders that I use: a Sony digital 8 and a Sony
Mini-DV. The digital 8 while older has features that I need .. like a jack
for an external microphone. The Mini-DV does not have that feature. I mainly
bought that for a backup and to use as a wide shot for two camera shoots.
I'm bitting the bullet and purchasinig a "decent" wireless mic (costs more
than either of my camcorders) after struggling with two low end wireless
mics.
MY QUESTION: it seems like camcorders with mic imputs are getting scarce
(at least for the non-pro) these days. Can anyone recomend a low end
Mini-DV camcorder ... with manual overides and earphone and mic jacks?
Price? .. around $1000 or a bit higher.
