Hello
Trying to track down the title of a film I remember seeing about 20
odd years ago. Basic story line was about a group of <ahem> geeky
American kids who uncovered a plot involving a high powered laser on a
satellite. Presumably this was hijacked by criminals or somesuch and
the kids set out to prevent this - cue hacking computers etc. The
scene I really remember it for is the ending where they are unable to
prevent the laser from firing but redirect it at a house that has a
large amount of popcorn in a metal/foil container. The laser hits this
and the whole house fills with popcorn as the heat sets it off.
Around the same time as wargames hence the hacking I think.
Thinking about it it could have been an episode of a series but I'm
pretty sure it was a film. Pretty sure it wasn't 'the red hand gang'.
Searched IMDB with 'laser' 'popcorn' 'satellite' etc but to no avail.
