Hello!
I'm looking for some information on old ENG U-Matic. I'm setting up the
field recording set consisting of Sony VO-4800PS recorder and JVC
KY-1900E camera (Nice oldschool set don't you think?). I don't have the
user manual for the recorder so I've some questions to somebody who have
experience with tis equipment:

* There is battery compartment in VO-4800. Is this battery only for
recorder or can be used to power the camera? If so how should I connect
the cables - is camera powered through 14-pin socket or I need separate
cable between 4-pin DIN power connector and camera power socket?

* The recorder is "pianokeys" operated. The only soft control is "Pause"
button. As I understand in order to make recordings I've to put the
recorder on record-pause and then releasing and putting back on pause is
controlled form camera thought 14-pin cable?

* There are two "MIC/LINE" switches on the recorder and two "audio-in"
jacks on the recorder. Am I correct, that these jacks are the "LINE"
inputs (and use line levels), and the "MIC" input is through 14-pin
socket? So for the microphone recordings I should connect microphone to
the camera, the camera to the recorder via 14-pin cable and set the
switch(es) to the "MIC" position?

Thank you for any help,
Maciek
