12-cell Laptop battery: $150
Replaced once a year for four years: $600
4-year warranty (which covers batteries): $299.99
Seems to me like I got my money back twice over in
batteries alone, to say nothing of the screen, HDD, and
motherboard.

Oh, BTW, since this thread was started (a month ago?)
Costco has changed their electronics return policy. People
who were counting on that in lieu of a real warranty are
now up the creek.
