My advice is to avoid anything priced under $50 (US$). I tried several of
the cheaper models from Sears and Walmart several years ago and they all had
problems - skipped, froze, weak sound, etc. This is one area where you
really get what you pay for. I'm still happy with my Emerson EWD7003 from
Walmart purchased 3 years ago for about $60.

You need to use ImgBurn to burn DL discs, then they'll probably play OK on
your standalone players.
