 The usual cause of remote problems is drink (anything from tea/coffee
 through to beer/wine) spilled on the front and quickly wiped off in the hope
 that all will be well.
 The problem is, all is usually well until it a few days later when it dries
 out and leaves suger to short bits out.
 I too liked the clean it out idea, I've done thousands, although getting
 into some can be tricky.
 Only attempt this if you're sure some buttons aren't functioning, as
 previously described.
 
 Strangely no-one is ever responsible for the sticky gunge found inside.
