1) Please don't top-post.
2) APE is not suitable for archival because even the smallest of
corruptions can all but render a file unplayable.
FLAC is what I use, and whenever it's asked what people use on a web
forum, most seem to use FLAC. And I'm pretty sure there's a comparison
table somewhere in the annals of HydrogenAudio that shows that FLAC is
the most well-rounded of the lossless formats.
