OK, have a look around at the router settings - under the wireless
settings you might have a tick-box to say "enable wireless".

Look at the type of encryption is being offered - WPA-PSK is probably
one of the better options for now, and requires you to type in a
password which you will need to repeat on the computer initially (WEP
can be bypassed in seconds)

Not all wireless cards / dongles use the windows wireless networking
utility - Belkin in particular do their own utility for one of their
USB dongles, and to be fair, it's a complete waste of feckin' space
:-}

Back to the plot :-} - try going into the "Wireless Station Access
List" if it has one, and confirm that your router isn't blocking the
MAC address of your wireless adaptor by default.

Have you got as far as searching / locating the network, and asking it
to connect (and providing the password) ?

One small note - it may help if you reboot before you try the wireless
stuff again, as i've had times when i've pulled the RJ45 and the
wireless side didn't take over as it should. I think it's down to a
quirk in Windows about how it gets allocated it's DNS servers / IP
address etc. :-}
