Yesterday, my local DVD rental store guy made an interesting statement
when we were talking about getting region 1 DVDs in India (that's
where I live). He said that he prefers to get region 1 DVDs instead of
regions 3/5 that are released here. Upon being asked why, he answered,
"there are significant differences between region 1 DVDs and those of
other regions in audio as well as video".
I can understand if he had said quality of the media/mastering can be
different. But, content???? I mean, video is video and Dolby/DTS are
Dolby/DTS.
Can someone throw some light on this? He made a specific reference to
"Casino Royale" and that it has a lot of difference b/w region 1 and
region 5. Wondering how that could be...
