Hello
On my computer's hard drive under WinXP, I've a collection of about 4000
MP3s ripped from a variety of CDs and also downloaded from all sorts of
sources. I'm trying to sort them out ready to transfer to (probably) a
Creative Zen Vision M:60GB player, yet to be bought.
I think some are tagged in ID3v1 and some are ID3v2. Some have album art
associated, but most don't.
When I use Winamp, all of the tracks have an associated artist|album|track
name, which is fine.
When I use Windows Media Player v10, loads of tracks are not associated with
an artist or an album, hence the reason why I think there is a disparity
between tagging methods - I'm assuming that Winamp/WMP10 are reading
different tags.
1) How should I best go about making sure that commonality exists ? I want
to *know* that all are tagged correctly in readiness for trnasferring to a
player. Right now, I don't know whether to believe Winamp or WMP10.
2) What is the best way to go about downloading album art - in other words,
do people think that Musicbrainz or CDDB is the best way to go, or what
software do you recommend me to use?
TIA for URLs, comments, advice
