Hi to all.

I could use some help here, from those that don't mind giving me a
hand.

I'm using Windows ME (vers. 4.90.3000)

Can't get any MP3 player to work with Win ME.......soon as I plug in
the USB cable, things go wrong!

I have tried an RCA flash memory type mp3 player, and a Siren 4G flash
mp3 player, but when I connect the USB cable, I get the small gray/
silver message box that says Win ME has detected new hardware, and is
preparing to install software (drivers?)

That's great, but...............

Immediately after that, the screen goes blue, with white text, and I
get a couple of VxD messages.

They are:


"VxD dynamic link call: NTMAPHLP(02) + 00000002 to "004F", service 1

(To continue running Windows, choose yes)"

I chose "yes".

Then I get this (blue screen again):

"VxD dynamic link call: NTMAPHLP(02) + 0000000D to "004F", service 2

(To continue running Windows, choose yes)"


When I choose 'yes' this time, I get a blank screen, and the computer
locks up, and I have to 'hard' reboot. (hold the power button down for
several seconds)

Can/will anyone help here...........I don't want to re-install Win
ME...........there must be drivers missing, I'm guessing. Where can I
get them........should they be the same drivers as for Win 98?

(The manual on both of these mp3 players say I don't need drivers for
ME, only for 98. The drivers for ME should auto-install when the mp3
player is connected.)

But that isn't happening............

Anyone able to help me? It would be greatly appreciated!
