Sorry, Joint Stereo is far inferior to proper stereo, to prove it beyond all
doubt, encode the same track once in Joint Stereo, and once in Proper
stereo, look at the file sizes, why is the Joint Stereo smaller? What
information is discarded?
Answer, the stereo separation is far inferior on Joint Stereo, and the
overall sound quality has a more compressed sound to it.
This inferior encoding system was introduced in the days when a 1Gb disk
drive was almost science fiction, and any way to save disk space was sought.
Now there is no need to make this compromise.
