I've never worked with an ENG audio mixer who did not have a breakaway
cable snake. If I need to hop away to shoot b-roll where camera mic is
adequate, click goes the breakaway snake and away I go.
I own one myself. I think I paid about $200 for a 15 footer at
Location Sound in Burbank, Ca.
