To allow the sound mixer and the camera operator to move
independently (to go to a new setup, etc.) Also to allow a
modular configuration so you can add length where needed,
or even use a different "breakout" end for different camera
configuations (different connectors, different locations, etc.)
I'm rather dubious that "Blas" can just make up a "universal"
solution that will fit everything, though.
