My trusty old pioneer headphones (don't laugh, it's taken more than 15
years for these beauties to finally give up the ghost) are in need of
replacement.
I've been researching all over for a pair that will serve 3 purposes -
1. location sound recording - need to be strong on cancelling ambient
noise
2. some editing - occasionally need to edit with headphones rather than
speakers
3. reviewing - watching finished product on TV @ home
# 1 should be self-explanatory - I don't do a lot of location sound, but
I need good phones for those times - I *HATE* headphones that can't damp
traffic noise, etc
#2 is needed for my slowly deteriorating hearing :-). Sometimes I can
pick up ambience, timbre, etc through headphones that I can't hear on
speakers.
#3 I like to watch things at night after the family is asleep.
I've found these:

that seem to the best in my price range. Any opinions on what else might
be good and available in Australia?
