There are many kinds of "noise", and without a better
description, we are only guessing here. If the "noise"
is hum, then it is likely a result of picking up power-
mains interference through your unshielded cable.
Always use a proper shielded cable for all audio
connections (except power amp to speaker, where
it is not necessary).
Advisable to use some kind of adapter on your
camcorder to handle line level. Such as one of...

The "pumping" is the primary effect of using equipment
with AGC that cannot be disabled. There is nothing
practical you can do about this except to record the
sound on somthing without AGC.
