(Even though the BBC New Doctor Who series is so obnoxiously smug,
poseur and dopey as to drive old-school Tom Baker fans up the wall, and
that's the version WITH the Doctor. >_< )

I haven't been getting the "big" HD cable-network channels or satellite,
as I'm a stingy bastard who doesn't want to pay the extra $4.50 a month
for box fee, let alone the tier service, and just plugs his local cable
into the built-in QAM tuner--
I may not get Sci-Fi or Discovery HD, but all four of the major
broadcast networks have digital affiliates in our area, and I've been
glued to just about everything that PBS-HD puts up...If you want to
corrupt a new novice, invite them over for "Nature" in hi-def. They'll
be at Circuit City within a week.

Although I also keep getting this glitch where the box-free service also
picks up everyone else's selected On-Demand videos at random, which
includes the two or three monthly HD-broadcast new-releases, TNT/HBO
original series (geez, what *is* it about "Big Love" anyway??) and
Showtime HD...
And okay, if I didn't know why "300" was supposed to look better in
hi-def than on DVD, I know NOW. :)
