Why "trapped"? Are you saying that once you transfered
the video from your camcorder, you erased the video on
the camcorder?

In exactly what state do they exist on your computer
now? Are they in files that you can see? What kind
of files are they? (what file extension, etc.)

It is not clear from what you have written that removing
an application program will have any effect on your video
files. Can you explain why you think removing the program
would destroy the video?

If the video is not on the hard drive now, then exactly
where is it?

You will likely need to describe your exporting attemps
in detail. A generaly arm-waving dismissal of the
feature us unlikely to give us enough detail to help you.
What options are aailable for "Save As" (or equivalent)?
I found a discussion of getting the MPEG files out of
your camcorder into iMovie here...
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4975840&
(I Googled for: Panasonic SDR-H18 mpeg)
Even more results Googling for: SDR-H18 imovie

With sufficient information and cooperation from you,
it seems likely that your movies can be saved.

You didn't explain why you found ImageMixer
inadequate?
