I have a 720p video source (square pixels) that I want to downsample
to D1 (720x480), which has non-square pixels. Any recommendations on
what software package or authoring tool to use? I want a good result
but won't be using the SW on an ongoing basis after the first few
weeks.

Important considerations:
- No or minimal compression (high fidelity)
- Intelligent downsampling (bicubic or better?)

My ultimate goal is to compare 720p video to D1 video and determine
what differences are actually perceptible to the avg user when viewed
on a computer monitor ( e.g., 19").
