DV and DVCAM conform to "blue book" standard when transfered via
firewire, DVCPRO does not. Sony machines that play DVCPRO will not
output it via firewire. Some Panasonic AJ-D??? machines have
"firewire" out but likewise there is no output when DV/DVCAM tapes are
played, this connection is for dubbing between Panasonic machines,
most (all?) nonlinear software will not recognise the signal from
these machines.
Best way to incorporate DVCPRO is to use a machine that has SDI out
and a nonlinear device that can capture it.
