Yes, that is assuming he's coming out of the DVC deck analog, using s-
video, into a Canopus converter and from there into the laptop by
firewire. Some of the DVC Pro decks come with a firewire out, but it
is not clear what if any program stream you can get out of it, depends
on several things. If he used a mac laptop with final cut express, I
think he could get firewire-out from the deck direct tot he laptop,
then save as AVI or whatever he wants. But I'd have to check the
manuals to make sure.
In any case, the point was that if the deck can't leave the property,
perhaps he can come it ot. From looking at other, later threads, looks
like it's moot now as he paid someone else to make a transfer.
