I've learned to love the Mac but I still dig PC's and XP Pro
I HATE the way Vista puts your computer into DRM LOCKDOWN for all your
music and video files --- nice eye candy though
Premier Pro and Adobe seem to advocate not upgrading to Vista --- not at
this time anyway.
ITunes will only encrypt the music that you purchase from the iTunes
Store. All of the music from your own cd's and imported mp3 files are
not copy protected and can be used directly from the itunes music library.
It pissed me off that I couldn't back up my ipods directly -- but
thankfully people keep writing software to do this for me.
I use Backstage to backup my ipods directly to HD --- even the encrypted
songs. cost me $9. Tune Tools does this too as well as allowing me to
clone one ipod to another.
there's my 02 cents
