Nobody here can promise you that the current model will not be replaced with
a better model, and camcorders are rapidly changing / improving. For
whatever it is worth, I would gladly own an HV20 despite whatever replaces
it, based on the theory that it is unlikely to be drastically improved, and
is a true bargain. Then again, I routinely own 2 or 3 camcorders at a time,
so I can't suggest this as a general solution in your case.
Waiting until the new products launch before making a buying decision is the
best approach, it seems, for your situation. The HV20 should remain
available for a while beyond the new product arrival.
