Actually LP sales have been going up for the past couple of years.
And now you will see such things as USB conencible turntables
on sale at places diverse as Costco.
It's a niche market, but there is a market for vinyl out there -
and so many of the new LPs are pressed on heavy vinyl - the kind
that was used in the 1960s' before the thin, lightweight, and
easily warpable vinyl of the '70s came in during the oil shortage
of that era.
