I thought Thunderbird and SeaMonkey [both Mozilla code based] were
alike, and I can set global filters for all groups with SeaMonkey.
Have you tried selecting [highlighting] your newsserver and clicking on
the message filter option from the Tools menu? If TB is like SM, you
should be able to set your filter/s there.
