I TOO have a Toshiba dual mode HDTV CRT. The biggest one they ever
made. And YES, it is very nice, but nothing like the current fare of
FPDs. You are sorely mistaken if you think I don't know anything about
CRTs. I used to fix 'em, and I used to make 'em!
They are, BTW, fed by RGB hooks (component), which is not as good as
today's FPDs fed by HDMI signaling.

What I said was retarded is that you MUST be upscaling the standard
DVDs and in doing so FAIL to show them the REAL difference between the
formats, and that is just the VIDEO aspect of it.
They are ALSO far superior in audio quality as well.
So YOU should re-examine the "frame of reference" you put forward to
them, because if you HAD shown them an old DVD from an old DVD player fed
into an OLD interface, and then show them the current technology, there
is no doubt they would see a vast difference. Since that didn't happen,
I can only assume you didn't display the side by side test correctly.
