Well, that's pretty much what "full screen" means, doesn't it? Sure,
it isn't right for the movie, it but does fill a standard TV screen.

So, what's the problem? The movie was 1.85:1, so that the DVD is very
slightly open-matte. The DVD will have a whole *nine* extra scan lines
of picture at the top and bottom. You can see this on a computer, but
almost no TV has that little overscan, so 99% of viewers won't ever
see it.
