>From what I've heard, WinMX won't even keep track of the username since
it's supposed to append a different tag to the username every time that
leech logs back on. Also, I've heard that just changing your own user
name is a way to get around somebody else's putting your name on their
ignore list. But from my own experience, I've learnt that WinMX does
not seem to recognize usernames in a single session, let alone single
IP addresses. I've noticed that some users, trying to DL via OpenNap,
seem to be able to occupy spaces on my queue list by logging on through
multiple servers. If left unchecked, these users can find themselves
in more than one DL slot at the same time. Many of these users are
likely just inexperienced (established by the fact that they'll try and
DL the same file through multiple servers, meaning they'll choke their
own bandwidth as well as my own). Adding these users to my ignore list
only seems to work for that particular server - so WinMX is obviously
blind to IP addresses of the end user.
