Yes, theoretically it is possible for mp3 to contain virus. It may
exploit vulnerability in certain mp3 player, however, I'm not sure if
any has actually been found. But just to be safe, if you have WinAmp,
then use one of the later version (I think later than 5.1?).

If you use WMP, then download all then necessary patches, although I
wouldn't use it to play mp3 myself.
I personally think there is little to worry about virus in mp3
though. There are other files that are far more likely to contain
viruses. Note that executables is not only .exe files. Someone can
post a list?
