He spelt offence right. He is English, so the English language is his to
do with as he wishes. It melds a variety of ancient languages into a

geeks. In English as she is spoke by the natives, 'offence' sounds like
it ends with 'tss', rather than the bald 'ss' with the alternative
version. Licence and license are two completely different words over
here. We like it that way, and would defend its (no apostrophe) soul to
the end of the internet.
