You may have a corrupt incomplete download. Move all your incompletes out
of your download folder, start winmx. If it runs without error, move back
and reload your incompletes one at a time.

If that doesn't help, you may have a corrupt shared file. Unshare
everything and go through a similar procedure to isolate the bad file.

Otherwise....delete the winMX program folder, download the WinMX 3.54
beta from
http://www.winmx.com/beta/
and re-install.
